Kathrin Durizzo, PhD
Welcome!
My research lies at the intersection of development and health economics. I study diverse research questions related to the design of social health protection and the functioning of health markets in low- and middle-income countries. As Principal Investigator (PI) on a Swiss National Science Foundation grant, I lead my independent research. My research agenda consists of the three pillars: (i) health insurance schemes, (ii) digital health transformation, (iii) public programs and policies.
I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Global Health and Population at Harvard University and an affiliate at the Development Economics Group at ETH Zurich. I received my PhD in Economics from the ETH Zurich in 2023, where my thesis was awarded the ETH Medal. I hold a MA in Economics with a minor in Data Science from the University of Zurich and a BA in Business and Economics with a major in Economics from the University of Basel.
I am on the 2025/2026 job market
